The Sad Sad Life of Being the Third Born

Poor poor Josh! Everyone join with me now: Poor Josh! See, he's my third-born, and everything you've heard about life as the third-born is true. He's not the oldest and gets to do things first and gets special responsibility. He's not even the first born girl, with her own specialness. He's not the baby...and we all know about the baby of the family.
He's the third of four kids. There aren't as many pictures of him...wait, do I even have any pictures of him at all? He's never old enough to do anything! And worst of all, poor Josh doesn't even get anything of his own to play with!
This is the conversation I had with Josh before his nap:
Me: Joshy, it's time for you nap.
Josh: ok Mommy, but I really want my dog Max to sleep with me.
(**We do not have a dog named Max. I thought that maybe he re-named one of his creatures...)
So Josh went and got his dog Max, and, well, here's what he found...

Well, can you see it? The newest addition to our family? Max? Yep, that's right. It's a package of diapers. POOR JOSH!!!

Poor Josh! :-) I am also a third born.....not the first girl (Pam) or the first boy (Matt). I got all hand-me-down clothes and all their old toys. There's nothin' special about me! LOL I used to tell my mom....I'm not the oldest, I'm not the youngest, I'm not the first girl....I'm just a NOBODY! Then she started telling me I was adopted! HA HA HA At least that made me special....well, sort of. She was lying, ya know!

At least he's got a good imagination.....diapers = dog named Max! ;-)

We enjoyed having your kiddos at VBS! Sorry, I wasn't able to chat much. Things could get pretty crazy, especially during the beginning and end! It was good to see you. You look great and I can't believe how much Rachel has grown!

My Daniel, the third of four, and the second boy, is the same way. The fun thing, I've noticed over time, is that he doesn't care if he is the only one who picks something different. He is perfectly okay with being an individualist. He also tends to be the most funny, and also the most shy in public.

Oh, and Daniel used to sleep with a plastic piece of pizza and a golf ball :)
